Student Nasser bin Saeed bin Nasser Al Shukaili from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (Higher College of Technology) won the silver medal at the Challenge and Innovation Forum in Qatar for the project (Civil Airframe Inspection Device).

Al-Shukaili explained that the project is a technical device that examines the external structure of civil aircraft and works automatically without human intervention, by operating it through a special application linked to it.

He added: The results are extracted after the examination on a tablet device, and the results issued are in the form of 3D, and if maintenance is needed, it alerts the user by clarifying the exact location of the fault or the piece that needs maintenance, by comparing the optimal piece for maintenance, efficiency and the shortest period.

Al-Shukaili stated that the product has a high competitive advantage, as it contributes to reducing the number of natural theoretical examination rolls, which have some difficulties due to the angle of view and the size of the aircraft. Artificial Intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He pointed out that this invention serves the aviation sector, specifically aviation engineering, adding that the most important challenges facing the product now are the procedures and cost associated with the civil aviation sector, specifically the issuance of drone permits, which is a necessary permit for the use of drones in the Sultanate's airspace. The extent of the aviation sector's acceptance of it.

Nasser stated that he is currently in discussions with several international investors, stressing that he prefers to search for an Omani investor because the product is Omani and Arab, and I have no intention of being attributed to another country.
