Many trackers on the market like Tile allow you to track lost items, but whoever uses them knows that they don't work with GPS. And it must be connected to Bluetooth technology with your smartphone, which means that if you exceed the range of Bluetooth, the device will not help you to reach what you are looking for.
To overcome this obstacle, Huawei has manufactured the new tracking tool "Locater", which works with the global positioning system (GPS) in addition to the cellular signal system. Everywhere a cellular signal appears.
Not only that, but the device contains antennas that support most satellite navigation systems such as Galileo, Beidou, Glonass, E-GPS, NB-AoT, which makes it able to track anything and anyone in any place on earth.
The tool has a 660 mAh battery that can work 15 days when it is in tracking mode, and 60 days in standby mode. They are also IP compliant, which means they are dust and water resistant and can work in tough conditions.
Unveiled at the IFE 2018 Berlin Technical Fair, this tool is larger than the Tile tool, with a thickness of 17 millimeters and a weight of about forty grams. And this is due to the antennas installed in the device.
The device seems like the tracker you need to consider if you have valuables to track. However, Huawei did not provide details of when it will be available in the market, so those wishing to acquire this device will have to wait some time.
