SuperSU Tool: How to root an Android device

SuperSU is a tool that allows Android users to root their device and manage root access for each application installed on your device individually. Thus, apps authorized by SuperSU to gain root access have access to your entire device without applying any restrictions to it.

Thanks to SuperSU you can manage these licenses manually and individually and choose to allocate them only at times when you need to perform microprocessing using an app installed on your smartphone or tablet.

The developer of Chainfire focused on giving the user access to all permissions and simply controlling them. The app was originally programmed to manage root privileges, but now it also provides you with several additional features to make the rooting process more efficient than before.

There are many advantages to rooting an Android device, such as having superuser permission that allows access to the entire operating system management, which is not possible on non-rooted devices.

What does Rooting mean?

Rooting does not mean hacking. So please do not compare the term hacking to rooting. In fact, this is not true at all. Well, Rooting for Android means nothing but jailbreaking the device to gain root superuser access to root your Android phone. This means that you remove restrictions from your Android phone or tablet to perform tasks that are not executable in normal mode.

Managing Android Root Superuser Features Centrally:

SuperSU allows advanced management of access rights for all rooted smartphone or tablet applications.

This app forwards various notifications and acts as a manager for superuser functions to simplify them. It should be noted that while having these permissions is an advantage, the management is sometimes a bit complicated, especially without knowing how Android works.

If you have finished activating these options and unlocking the bootloader, you must download USB drivers for Android devices compatible with your phone and also download ADB Fastboot tools.

SuperSU is available in the Google Play Store as an APK, but this version doesn't actually give you root access. Fortunately, SuperSU is also available as a .zip file that we can "flash" with TWRP. Doing so will give you root access along with the management features of Android apps from SuperSU.

Explanation of steps to root Android using SuperSU:

Download the flashable and compressed SuperSU package via custom recovery.

Download SuperSU ZIP

Download SuperSU APK

Connect the phone to the computer using a USB cable – then transfer the SuperSU ZIP file to the phone.

Now you will need to boot your Android phone into TWRP recovery mode using the buttons, which varies from one Android device to another. Or using ADB commands by typing the following command in the command interface:

adb reboot recovery
  • This is not the only way to root, there are other newer and better ways like Magisk Manager.
