It seems that the storm of criticism against Mohamed Al-Fayed, a specialist in nutritional sciences, did not subside until the moment, but rather took on other dimensions during the past days. After the great controversy that resulted from the advice that the latter provided to those infected with “Corona”, his supporters and opponents moved to the “battle of petitions” to resolve the previously raised controversy.

Many criticisms were leveled at Al-Fayed, who appears on an Algerian television channel, when he said that people fast for the month of Ramadan in a correct way, relying on only eating natural foods at night, to expel toxins from the body, that will eliminate the Corona virus, and that this virus It can be expelled from the sinuses by inhaling the steam of some spices such as cloves and cinnamon.

A war of petitions and counter-petitions broke out on the “Change.org” website, where the first party opposing Al-Fayed’s advice called for him to be prosecuted for “impersonating a doctor and endangering people through his non-specialized advice,” stating that he described “doctors and drug makers as secularists and traffickers of tragedies.” the people".

The petition, which has more than 4,200 signatories, stated that the person involved in the controversy also “invited simple citizens to take herbal medicine instead of medicine – including drinking camel’s ferret juice – and demanded, in another video, patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, anemia, and multiple sclerosis.” And other chronic diseases, the necessity of fasting.

The petition continued, saying: “By this, he ignores the opinions of doctors and specialists, and even the divine license to break the fast in case of illness. Al-Fayed here impersonates the doctor and the mufti, and insults two professions codified by law, in a way that must be followed up according to the law, and we especially mention the Noble Dahir No. 1.15 26. Issued on February 15, 2015 regarding the implementation of Law No. 131.13 related to practicing the medical profession.

On the other hand, Al-Fayed's supporters rushed to refute the contents of the aforementioned petition, as they were able to reach more than 80,000 signatures, stressing that "the nutrition expert has professional experience and scientific competence to give his opinion on the emerging Corona epidemic."

The petition said: “Following the fierce campaign launched by some elements in the name of doctors, which question the specialization of Professor Mohamed Al-Fayed’s prescription, we call on all free people in the world to stand up to falsehood and support the truth in order to refute this campaign, and make it turn into a disappointment because it tarnishes Morocco’s reputation in countries the world.

And she added, “The doctor has reputation and credibility in all countries of the world, and signing the petition is a testament to the truth, at a time when the doctor is working with everyone who works behind the king to get the country out of the pandemic.”
